I prefer not to think of myself skewing anything where near middle aged, but I acknowledge that’s a personal issue unrelated to anything else.

I am so busted.

I don’t know what your local bdsm community is like up there, but here it’s filled with normal and pleasant people who happen to practice bdsm in real life. By which I mean, for better or worse, it’s not a bunch of leather-and-latex-clad 20-somethings. (Our local community skews a bit towards the middle aged, at least from my perspective.)

If you talk about this stuff with them, you’ll find that some of them have bullshit ideas just like some of us out here in the ‘webs. But their bullshit ideas tend to be informed by real experiences and not purely by wankery, so that’s something.
